Malaysia Trade Commissioner Organized a Gathering with French Aerospace Industry Players!

What a wonderful gathering we had yesterday with the French aerospace industry players!

Thank you to Business France for collaborating with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) to organise the Malaysia-France Aerospace Business Luncheon in Paris, also a post- International Paris Air Show 2023 (Le Bourget) initiative. It was a real pleasure to be able to update each other on the current industry developments, policies, new opportunities and current challenges that we can mitigate together. Malaysia is poised to be 'the' aerospace hub in the region with strengths in aeromanufacturing, MRO, training and more.

The government sets a projection of annual revenue reaching RM55.2 billion for the aerospace industry, as well as creating 32,000 high-income jobs via the industry by 2030. France, on the other hand, is a powerhouse in the aerospace industry. I believe Malaysia can be its ideal partner to support the efforts to ramp up production capacity while at the same time exploring new diversification areas, particularly those that are R&D and ESG-centric. Our Malaysian Minister of Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) the Honourable Senator Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Aziz delivered an insightful remark through a recorded message, and the CEO of National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO Malaysia) Ts. Shamsul Kamar ABU SAMAH also shared an overview of NAICO through a video at the event. A huge thank you to Jean-François Ambrósio from Business France and Cédric Post from GIFAS - Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales for sharing your input as well as CCIFM - CCI France Malaysia (Alban Simonte) , CCI Paris and ASTech Paris Region for your support!

To all the other attendees, such as Safran represented by Philippe Bardol, EVOLEN , SNECI, Daussan, Vivendi, ABE France's Ruiching Miao (sorry if I missed any company here), I look forward to exploring future collaborations as we welcome the new year. #Malaysia #France #aerospace #aviation #bilateraltrade #asean #EU
